WILL RODGERS PREPPED FOR DAYTONA ARCA SERIES DEBUT

CONCORD, N.C. (February 7, 2018) – Will Rodgers, a two-time NASCAR K & N Pro Series winner is prepped and ready to drive for Ken Schrader Racing (KSR) in the ARCA (Automobile Racing Club of America) Racing Series opening event this Saturday, February 10 in the Lucas Oil 200 at Daytona International Speedway, Daytona Beach, Florida. Ken Schrader Racing is the defending ARCA Racing Series Championship team and will field two race cars in 2018.

Rodgers, born in Maui, Hawaii in 1994, tested last month at Daytona International Speedway in a No. 52 KSR Ford, and learned about the 2.5-mile historic superspeedway from team owner Kenny Schrader, crew chief Donnie Richeson and defending Champion Austin Theriault.

“Saturday night will be the first time that I race on an oval larger than a mile. This is a big step for my racing development. Superspeedway races are unpredictable, but I am confident in the No. 52 Ford and team behind me. KSR has had great success at Daytona and I believe that will shorten the learning curve. Ultimately, I am very excited to represent Drydene and put on the best performance possible for them,” said Rodgers.

“Being a part of a historic venue like Daytona, to launch our brand on a national scale with live television and fanatic, loyal fans is awesome,” said Dave Klinger, president of Drydene Performance Products. “I think Drydene, Will Rodgers and KSR will be a winning formula. We are hoping to see our team in victory lane.”

CONCORD, N.C. (Jan. 15, 2018) – Will Rodgers, a two-time NASCAR K&N Pro Series winner, will drive for Ken Schrader Racing (KSR) in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards in select races in 2018, starting with the Feb. 10 Lucas Oil 200 Driven by General Tire at Daytona Int'l Speedway. KSR, the defending national championship team, has plans to field two cars this year.

Rodgers, in the No. 52 KSR-Drydene Performance Products Ford, was also impressive in open testing over the weekend at Daytona, coming in seventh fastest overall among 62 drivers who posted time and speed. Rodgers, born in Maui, Hawaii in 1994, took his first laps at the historic superspeedway in preparation for the race.

"First of all, it was a unique experience," said Rodgers. "I had never been on a track more than a mile long…that was an oval anyway. It was a little more demanding than I thought. You have to put a little bit more wheel on it to keep it where you want."

Rodgers also said that he was glad he had the chance to test ahead of the race.

"If I hadn't had those test days, it would not have helped my case for the race. I found out the cars move around a bit…you had to pay attention to manipulate the car as to not get in a bad spot. It was very helpful to learn what the car feels like in a large pack. It was kind of like getting thrown to the wolves. I'm sure glad I got the chance to test."

Rodgers is also thankful for his new sponsor, Drydene Performance Products, which appeared on the hood.

“I am thankful for this newly-formed relationship with Drydene," said Rodgers. "Becoming a part of its brand in the market place is a special thing for me. The program that we have constructed with Ken Schrader Racing in the ARCA Racing Series coupled with our social media campaigns, will find great success on and off the track. Drydene’s brand is all about putting its customers first, while providing the best service possible. I believe we will represent all of those brand attributes well."

The multiple-race sponsorship is the first for Drydene Performance Products in stock car racing, commencing with the season opener at Daytona.

“I, along with everyone at Drydene Performance Products, am honored and extremely excited to team with an incredible young driver like Will Rodgers, and industry icon Ken Schrader," said Dave Klinger, president of Drydene Performance Products. "Will and Ken embolden all the values and performance that Drydene represents. I couldn’t think of two better partners, or a better venue than Daytona to launch our brand on a national scale. I think Drydene, Will Rodgers and KSR will be a winning formula. We are hoping to see our team in victory lane."

Schrader's pretty happy about the whole thing too.

“We’re excited to welcome Will Rodgers and the Drydene brand to Ken Schrader Racing," said Schrader. "Will is coming off a successful 2017 season with two NASCAR K&N Pro Series wins. Having Will with us for select ARCA races brings a new perspective to the team. He has a great attitude and talent behind the wheel. I look forward to Will and Brandon Grosso working together on the track."

Rodgers finished fifth in the 2017 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West Points championship and is the 2015 Mazda Sports Car Champion. His love for racing was born in his home state of Hawaii.

"I was born on the island of Maui," Rodgers said. "Collectively, I spent about eight years on the island when I was growing up. I actually started my racing career there. I was 8 years old in 2004…there was a little go-kart track in the middle of the island. A year after that, I won my first championship and it snowballed ever since."
